Neil Bonnet / Amour All
Neil Bonnett started racing in NASCAR about the same time as his very close friend Dale Earnhardt. By 1977, Bonnet was a top driver in his Harry Hyde/Stacy 77 Charger.
For 1978, the team switched over to the Magnum and like Petty — the team was having problems being competitive in the Magnum. Midway through the season Hyde filed a suit against Stacy — and the judge impounded the three Magnums. Bonnett finished out the season racing in a Chevy rented from another team.
